Sean Hannity to Democrats: "Your Vote Doesn't Matter Anyway" (More Evidence of GOP Intent to Steal Election?)

@ 07:51 AM (22 months, 10 days ago)

Has Repug commentator Sean Hannity admitted that the GOP intends to steal this year's midterm elections?

That's the first thing that I thought after reading (courtersy of Media Matters) Hannity's comments on the October 18 edition of his syndicated radio show.  He encouraged Democrats to stay home and not bother voting on November 7, in part because "your vote doesn't matter anyway."

Hannity said on his radio show: "I want you to stay home on Election Day because you must accept the fact that your party has abandoned you. You've gotta accept the fact that your vote doesn't matter anyway. So all you Democrats, stay home. So, you know, why don't you stay home on Election Day? This is how the press is going to report this: "Hannity says Democrats should stay home on Election Day."

Now I ask Mr. Hannity: What precludes Democrats' votes from mattering?  If Democrats show up to vote on November 7, why wouldn't their votes count? Perhaps too many Diebold machines and too many Republicans willing to tap into Diebold's software and switch votes around, perhaps?  Voter supression, perhaps?

Hannity to Democrats: "[S]tay home on Election Day ... for the sake of the nation"

  2. Anybody has to be stupid to listen to the Hannity insanity. What a block head.

  3. Do you want to really get into a debate over whether Olbermann, Hannity, Limbaugh or Franken not to mention several others are the BIGGEST blockhead. They all have their blockhead moments as far as I can see. That looks like a debate to nowhere.

  4. Yeah, all you mention are spinchters - but I think Olberman is pretty funny and seems to tell it like it is more than the rest of them - certainly more than self righteous Hannsanity.

    Comment by Dugg— 2006/10/21 @ 07:05 PM — (Reply)

  5. Olbermann is a jackass who claims to be a "newsman", none of the others do, and is only interested in Olbermann and the Olbermann agenda. It won't be long until he pops a cork and is ejected from tv and cable. I email the chickenshit from time to time to see if he has anything to back up the horsehshit he spouts and the intellectual fraud cannot respond. If you admire someone like that, it speaks volumes. When are you getting your $100 to Ms. Millard?

  6. and accusations of fraud cut party lines

  7. So typical of you to deflect attention away from your own party. You never want to deal with issues regarding your own party. The fact is that your boy Hannity has told Democrats that their votes don't matter anyway, so don't bother showing up to vote.

And you don't even want to deal with what he may have meant when he said their votes don't matter?

  8. Who cares what Hannity thinks? Does he hold sway over a bunch of zombie like voters? If he does there's a lot more wrong here than what he said. I think you want an excuse in case the Dems don't win. Other than "we hate bush..let's impeach him"...and "republicans are pedophiles" there is no democratic plan.

Believe me I am fed up with Republicans as well. They need to give me more of a reason than "Do you want Nancy Pelosi as speaker?" They haven't given me much reason to vote fro them either. You're not gonna see conservatives abandoning the Republican party but they'll certainly be holding their nose.

Are you kidding, Shalana? What he "may have meant" Are they handing out degrees in clairvotancy now? You have invented an issue here. Hannity suggested, truthfully, that a Dem run Congress would be irrelevant because the President would still have veto power and Reps. won't effect great change without White House cooperation. That's true anytime the Executive and Legislative are run by different parties. You (courtesy of Media Matters) want to spin this into a conspiracy theory which underscores Elmer's point - all the blather about how "they" are out to get you - and NO PLAN OF ACTION.

  11. Actually, no I'm not kidding.

I haven't invented anything here. Those are Hannity's words about Democratic voters votes not counting, not mine. Again, I ask why wouldn't a Democratic voter's vote count on Election Day? And the only explanation for that, would be if their vote was tampered with.

  12. His words. Your context.

    Comment by Cate— 2006/10/21 @ 01:31 PM — (Reply)

  13. And that is my right, to try to ask what he meant by his words. You have your own opinion about what he meant, and so do I. So be it.

  14. You are entitled to spin. No law against it.

    Comment by Cate— 2006/10/21 @ 03:47 PM — (Reply)

  15. And so are you my friend. And you seem quite good at the spinning and being a Bush apologist. Keep up the great work!

    Comment by SMillard— 2006/10/21 @ 05:20 PM — (Reply)

  16. Nice try.

I'll take your absence of a denial as an admission of guilt. BTW, I don't spin. I write my opinion - I've never tried to blur my opinion with fact.

    Comment by Cate— 2006/10/21 @ 05:48 PM — (Reply)

  17. You don't spin? Spare me. You are "spinning" when you say that a Democratic Congress would be irrelevant because Bush would still have veto power.

Yet, you seem to conveniently forget two things: 1) Bush has only used the veto once during his presidency, and that was to limit stell cell research. He's never used his veto power to control spending or anything else. He's only used his veto power ONE time, to cater to the so-called "Christian conservative" base regarding stem cell research.

But most importantly, you forget to mention that Congress can override a presidential veto, with a 2/3 vote.

    Comment by SMillard— 2006/10/21 @ 06:18 PM — (Reply)

  18. You are spinning, Shalana. He's never used the veto because he had a GOP congress and generally got what he wanted. A 2/3 vote is tough to get and barring a landslide, neither party will have enough votes to garner 66% for anything.

    Comment by Cate— 2006/10/21 @ 06:30 PM — (Reply)

  19. No, you are spinning. George Bush has complained plenty of times about Washington's spending habits. Before, he's called on Congress to reign in its spending. I find it curious, though, that he hasn't vetoed any appropriations bills. If he didn't like their spending, he could have easily vetoed the approrpriations bills that he found questionable.

  20. I heard Hannity has stock in Diebold? what does that say?

Comment by elmers brother— 2006/10/21 @ 10:14 AM — (Reply)

  21. and pray tell how would Hannity tamper with votes? by this statement? wow this proves it once and for all.

Comment by elmers brother— 2006/10/21 @ 10:22 AM — (Reply)

  22. Did I say anything about Hannity himself tampering with votes? I'm simply asking the question of whether he has some sort of inside information about election officials tampering with votes.

The Diebold equipment (as has been demonstrated on tv) is very easily hackable. And its very easy to get into their program and switch around the results of elections.

And that is precisely how they could make Democrats' votes not count.

    Comment by SMillard— 2006/10/21 @ 10:42 AM — (Reply)

  23. What's all the fuss? The demlibs would like all the conservatives to stay home too. Big deal. Where is that link to asmalldoseofreality.bloghi.com?

    Comment by Barry G.— 2006/10/21 @ 11:35 AM — (Reply)

  24. oh How does Hannity come up with this inside information?
Does the Diebold software glitch only affect Democratic voters?
