Clinton Finally Says What Needs To Be Said!
In an interview to air on Fox News Sunday, former President Bill Clinton FINALLY says what needs to be said: he is the President that actually made the effort to capture Osama bin Laden, while his successor did ZERO. Nada!
President Clinton said:
"But at least I tried. That's the difference in me and some, including all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They had eight months to try, they did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed. I authorized the CIA to get groups together to try to kill him. Now if you want to criticize me for one thing, you can criticize me for this: after the Cole, I had battle plans drawn to go into Afghanistan, overthrow the Taliban and launch a full-scale attack search for bin Laden. But we needed basing rights in Uzbekistan -- which we got after 9/11."
The right-wing attack machine has been busy re-writing history and portraying as facts things that never even happened, relative to what President Clinton did to fight terrorism. And now, he has called their bluff!

When he says at least he tried and failed, that's probably a reference to 1998, when the U.S. government had intelligence that Osama was going to be at a certain location. Our forces went in to get him, but we apparently had just missed him by like an hour or two.
Contrast that to George W. Bush, who now says he doesn't know or care where Osama is.

What looms on the horizon is the Iran - Israel showdown. Where the heck is that going to take the world?

You sound just like George Bush when he says he doesn't "know or care" where Osama is.

Ask yourself why is it that when George Bush was brief on 8/6/01 about bin Laden being determined to strike in the U.S., the only thing he could think of to say to the person briefing him was "All right. You've covered your ass now."
Ask yourself why George Bush went from saying he was going to hunt Osama down and smoke him out, and he wanted him dead or alive, to now saying he doesn't know or care where Osama is.
And that is the point that President Clinton was trying to make to Chris Wallace.

bin laden is a marginalized non factor. Bugs Bunny shows up on TV sometimes so does Daffy Duck. Neither affect my life. Neither does bin laden. What is your point?
The real and dangerous point today 9/24/06 is that the middle east extremists are poised for a very catastrophic confrontation that has nothing to do with bin laden. That is the point.

He has not been brought to justice.
Are you saying to me that you don't care that the man responsible for nearly 3,000 murders on September 11, has not been brought to justice?
Moreover, sadly, I would say that Osama bin Laden has not been marginalized. It pains me to say this, but he is like some revered Godfather or beloved hero to these Islamic extremists who believe that if they kill innocent Americans who have nothing to do with the policies of the U.S. government, then they will be rewarded in heaven. That if they crash planes into buildings, causing people to jump to their death, then their heavenly father awaits them.
This is the viewpoint that Osama has passed to a new generation of extremists. That is why I don't believe he is marginalized.
But it sounds to me as though you don't want him brought to justice, or you don't care if he ever is.
