"The Only Good Democrat Is a Dead One"
Well, if you were wondering what the culture-of-life, Christian conservative right folks over at Free Republic were thinking of Stephen Colbert's performance last night, wonder no more!
One person over at Free Republic comments that: "All I can honestly say after a night like this is.....the only good democrat is a dead one! And any Republican that does not support our president is just as bad if not worse. I love President Bush! Anyone that claims to be a Christian and votes democrat is a liar!"
Christian values at work! Wishing for dead Democrats! Gotta love our conservative friends at Free Republic!

Stephen Colbert did not call for anyone's death last night. He didn't say "the only good Republican is a dead one."
Moreover, unless you are the author of that post on Free Republic, you don't know whether the person intended it as a joke or not.
It seems like every time a Republican wants to attack a Democrat or anyone else they don't agree with, they start wishing death on the person.
You had Michael Savage saying the only reason President Clinton survived his heart surgery was because "hell was full."
You had Pat Robertson praying on his television program, basically wishing for the death of certain Supreme Court justices facing health challenges. And then of course he called for the assassination of Hugo Chavez.
And right on this blog, some of the conservative bloggers suggested ways of poisoning may, such as creme-bru-le (sp?)

The person who made the "only good Democrat is a dead one" was a troll who posted at FR to stir up shit. In other words, a Democrat. Nice try, though.
