Breaking News on my local Channel 9 news: Rush Limbaugh arrested in Palm Beach County, FL on prescription drug charges.

So dear ol' Rush reached a deal with prosecutors in his "doctor shopping" case.  He turned himself in today, and was charged with fraudulently hiding or concealing information in order to obtain prescription drugs.

However, prosecutors will drop the charge in 18 months if Limbaugh continues treatment for his drug addiction.

What's interesting here is that Rush will avoid jail time for his illegal activity.  Yet, he has strongly advocted jail time for other drug users, saying on his television show in October 1995:"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. ... And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."

He also made fun of President Clinton for saying he didn't inhale.

And just one word for our conservative friends here who drink from the cup of Rush Limbaugh's kool-aid every day: You may want to re-think your strategy if the talking head you're listening to daily, needs a special device to hear his callers, because he's had so much OxyContin it's affected his hearing. 

With all the OxyContin, there's a chance your guy just might be talking out of his rear-end.
