Compassionate Conservatism During Its Finest Hour
"I think Katrina has worn its welcome. I think the American people are tired of it."
- Republican Bay Buchanan, speaking on CNN
Well Bay, why don't you try telling that to the survivors of Katrina who are still trying to rebuild their lives? The same ones who are either attempting to return to New Orleans or make new lives for themselves in other cities? The same ones who were left by their government to drown and die.
And Bay, lest we forget, they are STILL finding dead bodies in New Orleans from the hurricane. I'd like you to to walk up to someone who has just found the body of their loved one, and tell them you're sick of Hurricane Katrina talk.
What's more, Bay, that could have been any one of us affected by Katrina. One day, it just might be you or me, experiencing one of the worst natural disasters on American soil.
