Meet Michael Brown: Disaster Consultant

@ 07:35 PM (32 months, 10 days ago)

Michael Brown has worn many hats in his day.  First, he was a Commissioner at the International Arabian Horses Association, until he was fired from there for supervisory failures.

Then he became head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, where he presided over the government's poor response to the worse natural disaster on U.S. soil.  While people were literally drowning and dying in New Orleans, he declared himself a "fashion God," and was more concerned with how he came across on t.v., than what was happening in the Superdome.

Now he's wearing the title of "Consultant," starting his own emergency planning consulting business.  So let me see if I've got this straight.  The same Michael Brown who purgered himself before Congress some weeks ago, falsely stating that Governor Kathleen Blanco never declared a state of emergency for New Orleans, is now going to tell people how to respond to emergencies!

  1. You are 100% right. That Michael Brown is a skunk and anyone who hired/hires him is a dope.

  2. Welcome to the blog Fellow Traveler, and I totally agree with your comments.

It almost makes me physically ill every time I think about the fact that as people, MY people, were literally drowning and dying in New Orleans, Michael Brown was exchaning emails in which he declared himself a "fashion God," and asked "Can I quit? Can I go home now."

I think the U.S. Congress needs to enact legislation that says anyone the President wants to nominate to head FEMA, MUST have at least 5 years of experience in successfully managing emergencies.

  3. Thanks for the nice welcome. I have been thinking about having my own blog for some time and I think your posts have given me the courage to actually start one! Do you have any suggestions for what title I should use? Thanks for your help!

  4. Go for it! You should start your own blog.

As far as what to call it, you should really think about the message you want to convey. What do you want the first impression of your blog to be? And how will your title draw readers to your blog?

    Think about those things!

  5. CONSULTING - If you're not a part of the solution, there's good money to be made in prolonging the problem.
