America to Bush: Liar, Liar!

@ 08:14 PM (48 months, 21 days ago)

According to a recent Harris Interactive Poll, 64% of Americans say they believe that the Bush Crime Team "generally misleads the public on current issues, while fewer than a third of Americans believe the information provided by the administration is generally accurate."

Of course, this poll shouldn't come as a surpise to anyone.  Americans "get it."  They know that George W. Bush was lying in his 2003 State of the Union Speech, when he said Iraq tried to acquire yellowcake uranium from Africa.

They know George Bush lied during a Presidential debate last year, when he denied every saying that he did not know or care where Osama bin Laden was.

Mos importantly, they now know he lied when he promised to restore honor and integrity to the White House, and usher in a new era of responsibility.

  1. Just curious as to why you don't author your comments...do you not want people to know how rude you are? Second, why are you trying to bully people off BlogHi? If you don't agree with someone's blog, don't read it. I think it's great that we have a wide representation of people and ideas on the site.

  2. First of all Jill, everyone on here knows who I am. I am the owner of this blog, and I do assign my name to my comments.

I am not ashamed of what I write. Unlike some of the people on here who comment anonymously.

Second of all, what does that have to do with the subject of this post, which is that most Americans don't believe the Bush administration.

You exemplify the typical Republican who knows they don't have the issues or the facts on their side.

This is supposed to be a post about 68% of Americans not believing what the Bush administration says anymore.

    Address that!

  3. Appologies...there were other comments up before I wrote mine...they must have been erased. I was actually trying to defend your blog, questioning the anonymous author of those rude comments. The comments were along the lines of asking you to leave BlogHi. Ahh the confusion. Anyway, if you read my blog you'll see that I'm not a Republican. And I don't think 'typical' describes me either. But I know you wrote that because of the confusion with the other comments against your blog being erased. I actually like your blog, and find it refreshing to the many conservative blogs (although of course they have every right to be here as well). I wrote a month back or so about a similar issue with a poll proving that the majority of Americans are NOT o.k with the Bush administration. So no hard feelings. Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Or you can, like Shalana ignore facts that contradict your political ideology.

  5. To Jill: My apologies. I misunderstood your post.

And you are absolutely correct. If the commenters on here were really proud of their posts, they would not post anonymously.

And to Elmer's Brother: I don't ignore facts. In fact, I thrive off of facts. I provide them on here every day.

And trust me: whenever I go searching for the facts, I don't go to your kind of right-wing media, because they don't tell the truth.

Rush Limbaugh doesn't know how to tell the truth. Bill O'Reilly and Sean O'Hannity wouldn't know the facts if it bit them in the behind.

The right wing media isn't interested in facts; they are only interested in their propoganda.

  6. If you were interested in facts you would be more concerned with the real enemy...Happy Thanksgiving and by the way the jihadist over at global war has offered to make you his third wife.

Shalana came up to me at a party the other night and said, "Treat me like your Egyptian princess." So, I threw a cloth over her head and told her to shut up.Actually, I love the gal. She could become my third Muslim wife, inshallah.

  8. Elmer's Brother:

First of all: I am concerned with the real enemy, which is why I think we should have finished the job in Afghanistan. I have not even been over to that Global Jihadist site that you keep referring to. Since when have you heard me defend jihadists?

George W. Bush went from saying he wanted Osama bin Laden dead or live, to he didn't know or care where he was.

The fact is that Iraq didn't pose a threat to us. It was not a terrorist state, and we turned it into one.

By the way, I deleted your last comment because it was WAY to long. If I am trying to scroll through the posts on here, I do NOT want to scroll through that long a post, especially over a dial-up system.

And you did not providing any sourcing for your post.

So the next time, please just post a portion of something like that, and then provide a URL where people can read the rest.

  10. It is difficult to find any blogs that do not cater to right wing extremeist. I am glad you have this!

  11. Welcome to the blog, A Progressive Too.

I am glad you found the site, and hope you return.

I am here for one reason: to help keep people informed, and speak truth to the right-wing. And I think you are right about the lack of progressive blogs.

It's very sad to say, but most people today get their information in 30-second or 60-second soundbites from talk radio. As we all know, talk radio is mostly conservative.

And people like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity have proven they have absolutely ZERO respect for the truth.

So I am here to discuss the issues in a thoughtful, truthful way.

  12. Good post.

I think though if your going to post on the Iraqi intel, then you should have the balls to post all of it including statements made by the Democrats over the years on Saddam and his weapons.

If you need it I can provide you with hundreds of statements made by them pertaining to Saddam and WMD. If you really need it I will provide live video feed.
You see there is a difference on being a concerned citizen and a hack.

I stand behind what I say and I use my actual photo on my blog

  13. Here is a small tiny little sample for you, free of charge

Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."
    - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
    - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
    - President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
    - President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."
    - Madeline Albright, Feb 1, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
    - Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
    Letter to President Clinton.
    - (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
    - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
    - Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them."
    - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
    - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
    - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
    - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
    - Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
    - Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
    - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
    - Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002
