Culture of Life?

@ 08:00 AM (50 months, 25 days ago)
More evidence that the so-called "culture of life" fraction of the Republican Party really supports a culture of death.

Fox News and radio commentator Bill O'Reilly commented on air that he wished Hurricane Katrina had struck the United Nations building in New York.  Futher, he commented that he would not have done anything to rescue the United Nations, had they fallen victim to Hurricane Katrina.

O'Reilly subsequently blasted Media Matters for America, who picked up on his comments.  He labeled Media Matters for America a "creepy, little, left-wing outfit" and compared the organization to the devil worshippers in the movie Rosemary's Baby.

So to my Republican friends who support a true culture of life, come join us in the Progressive movement.  As Progressives, we don't wish death on anyone simply because we have ideological differences with them.

The beauty of being a Progressive is that in the end, I will defend Bill O'Reilly's right to be the biggest jerk on Earth.

And to Mr. O'Reilly:  Because I do support a culture of life, I would have attempted to rescue you, should you have been caught in Hurricane Katrina's cross-hairs.

  1. There's a lot of competition for the biggest jerk on earth... Bill is in the running, but I think Ruppert Murdoch is still ahead. I mean, look at what his kid was offered, and he still wouldn't work for his own dad. Then, of course, there's Karl "Squeeler" Rove. He is a different kind of four letter word.

  2. I think they are all in competition with each other to be put on DA status.

  3. If DA stands for what I think it does, this whole administration has earned it. Oh, and I think there's a spot for JD Hayworth, too. That guy is the definition of a bully... I wish that Al Franken would find the tape of him sticking up for the Speaker... Just before the Speaker came out cryin' like a baby about how he'd been wrong to call the cops on the minority party. In fact... That whole Republican crew, who lined up and made sure that it wasn't taken down, they ALL should have apologized, not just the speaker.

  4. Bill O'reilly is no conservative.

  5. This coming from the party that supports abortion on demand, partial birth abortion, and no parental notification. You can't lecture me on the culture of life until you clean your own house.

  6. We support a woman's right to make decisions about her own health and well being. We believe a woman knows her body best, NOT the government.

We believe that if a 14-year old child has been raped and impregnated by her own father, she shouldn't have to go back to that father for permission for an abortion.

We believe that when a woman's health is in danger, and she finds out that she has gestational onset of diabetes or cancer, then she has a right to get her own health together, and then worry about having a baby.

We believe that it is wrong for the so called "right-to-life" folks to speak out against abortion, yet support the bombing of family planning and abortion clinics.

We believe that it is wrong to talk about a culture of life, yet support what is happening in Iraq.

The progressives, who are the TRUE culture of life, don't need a lecture from the "we support death" Republican Party.

  7. How many people was Saddam Hussein responsible for killing before the invasion? Got any idea? I know the enemy of my enemy is now my friend. So the Iraqi's were better of with Saddam...that's compassionate. No I don't need a lecture from the pro-death forum. Pregnancy as a result of rape is very rare. So what you support is murder that happens about 99.9% of the time because the baby is an inconvenience. Nobody I know who opposes abortion would ever support bombing an abortion clinic. What's ironic about your support of abortion is that Margaret Sanger (the founder of Planned Parenthood) believed in eugenics and abortion was the means she wanted to use to get rid of minorities and other people she deemed unlikables. People who are pro-life support places like Crisis Pregnancy Centers where women are given real choices and are not fodder for abortion doctors to make money off of. The abortion industry is a big business and if you can't see that I suggest you take your blinder off. So here it is I repudiate anyone who thinks it is right to bomb an abortion clinic. Now I have a right to say abortion is wrong.

As far as Iraq goes pull your head out. If somebody comes to your house and wants to rob, kill or rape you and you have the chance to take him out you're not gonna do it?

You call yourself a progressive, I call you hysterical.
